Mathis has worked with more than 10 future NFL players including 4 first round picks. He has trained numerous future college football players.

Mathis holds a bachelor of arts degree in education (BA) from LaGrange College and a master of science degree (MS) from WGU Tennessee.

Mathis holds certifications with United States Weightlifting as a Sports Performance Coach (USAW-SPC), International Youth Coaches Association as a High School Strength & Conditioning Specialist (HSSCS), and is CPR / AED certified through the American Heart Association.

A native of Homer, GA, Mathis and his wife Kellany have two children, Beau (5) and Allie Blake (2).
